Ask Aisha - New Blog

Shalom Aleichem (Hebrew) - Assalamu Alaikum (Arabic) - Peace be with you (English)

The premise of this blog is simple. We discuss all things related to being Muslim in America in a way that is true to the everyday challenges and triumphs each of us face. The point of this blog is to reach out and discuss the diverse American Muslim community which has a heritage that hails from every corner of the globe which expands far beyond the Middle East.

Depending on national origin, Islamic traditions and what we pass on to the next generation can differ dramatically. Our faith in the Quran, which is the basis of Islamic beliefs, and the Arabic words of our prayers, are the same - but how we then move that to our daily lives where we are mothers and fathers, students, financial analysts, doctors, teachers, refugees and homemakers...well there's a range. In fact, I'd describe the typical Muslim in America as I would describe the typical American - there is no typical, just a common set of core values that guide our daily decisions.

So - tune in to our show every Saturday afternoon at 2:00pm (EST) at www.blogtalkradio.com/askaisha
to be a part of this discussion and take this journey with us. Salam - Peace

Aisha
